Freeing Your Hips and Pelvis

Freeing Your Hips and Pelvis

These six lessons focus on the movement of the pelvis and how that connects to all our other movements.

The pelvis is central to our stability but also our mobility. When the pelvis is not moving as well as it could, other parts of us like the lower back and hips have to overcompensate and that is where we get pain.

The trick to freeing up the pelvis is to systematically connect the movements of the pelvis with our hips, knees and feet, all of the movements of the spine, as well as the shoulders, neck and head.

If you have pain or dysfunction in your back, hips, shoulders, neck, knees or feet, the problem could actually be coming from a stuck pelvis.

Also included are Five-Minute Feldies for each lesson. They are short video lessons that you can do in five to ten minutes to reinforce the longer lessons.

  • Hip Joints -- explores the four movements of the hip joints and how they connect with the pelvis and the legs.
  • Sacral Clock  -- increases the movement awareness of the pelvis. When the pelvis has more control, it takes the stress off of our shoulders, neck, knees, ankles and feet.
  • Closing the Gate -- connects the movement of the hip joints to the spine and the shoulders.
  • Half-@$$ Sitting -- explores the connection between the shoulders and the pelvis that counterbalances us against gravity.
  • Buttocks -- connects the muscles of the buttocks with the pelvis, legs, knees and feet for greater mobility and stability.
  • Folding on Your Stomach -- coordinates the movement of the shoulders and the pelvis through the spine by twisting, folding and extending.
